Vocal characteristics
Analysis of vocal characteristics (also called paralinguistic data (Draisma & Dijkstra, 2004) involves examining audio recordings of interviews to identify notable properties of the interviewer’s voice (such as pitch, intonation, rate of speech, and volume), similar to the way behavior codes track behaviors during an interview (Olson & Parkhurst, 2013, p. 53).
